Fall for Cotton Sew along

Added on by bubiknits.

Did you heard? The tam tam is already spread, right?
The marvelous two, Tasha from By Gum,  By Golly! and Rochelle from Lucky Lucille are hosting the Fall for Cotton a Vintage inspired sew along, no pattern or Era constriction, you will choose your pattern and your favorite Era and sew it to your own peace, the only thing you must use 100% cotton fabric for your dress.
For more info about the sew along visit Tasha and Rochelle blogs and join the Fall for cotton flickr pool

I'm pretty excited because I had in mind to make a fall dress with cotton fabric for all the summer, and I'm so happy to combine the joy of making it as a sew along with such wonderful people, at the moment I'm writing, 78 people as already joined the flickr group.

Now, what's my choice?

well, I'm still in love with 1950 to early 1960 decades, and I really wanted to redo the Crepe Dress from Colette Patterns, I made one in knit fabric last year and I still wear and love it, and I strongly want another one in cotton.
So when I found those images while looking for my Fall for cotton inspiration late last night, I say definitely yes to this sew along!

I found a lovely blog post about Swirl dress, this vintage advertising is from May 1951 and is really similar to the Crepe Dress, isn't it? More about the post at Livin vintage blog
