October is my favorite month from 4 yeas now. My son is born in October, I've got my most important experience about knitting retreat in this month and Autumn is my favorite season ever, I love the colors and the air smell of this period. In October are also some great festival and fairs I would love to visit some day, as the Shetland Wool Week in UK, the NYS Sheep and Wool Festival in Rhineback, NY and the local Abilmente in Vicenza Italy.
When you write a blog, it seems you don't exist if you are not writing something frequently, but here we are. I'm still questioning with myself if I have some real attitude to this or not, If I'm really talented at designing, knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting or not, sometimes I think I have some talents but I found difficulty to express to others what I am doing, and who I am.
What I've done on the past month apart parenting and keeping away cold from Marco, is studying. Yes, I keep studying knitting, because, even if I have learned a lot in the last year and a half, I wouldn't to sell something without having the skills to 100%, as unfortunately often happens in Italy and in the world of craft, but I will not complain about anything, but that's why I only teaches patchwork and quilting so far, because I know I have a complete teaching level and skill in that art.
I am still trying to learn all about knitting, in all its aspect, there are so many things to know about wool, fiber, knitting methods and construction recipes that I am overwhelmed, but still enjoying that.
canvasIn the meaning time I'm swatching with new lovely wool and started also my Black Canvas sweater from Ysolda's Perfect Sweater course (available also for single pattern purchase).
the yarn I am working with is a beautiful pure British new wool with a 10% of silk from New Lanak Mill. I adore this yarn, thanking to Ysolda and her assistant Sarah I known this great yarn and I will use it again.
I've also explored water colors and I made my own color wheel to study color theory.
it will help me in designing the next fabric collection. :)
But for now here is the whole Autumn Collection!
that's all for now. Enjoy your Autumn Fall Season as I'm doing!
